From April 2013, Kacie’s Cause has been involved in numerous educational and community awareness sessions aimed at ensuring the surrounding communities are exposed to the many faces of drug addiction, with Heroin use as a central focus. In addition to “Town Hall” style meetings, Kacie’s Cause is actively involved in many aspects of community outreach and support.
The Kacie’s Cause message has been well received and is supported by area
Towns, Churches, Rotary Clubs, the YMCA, Schools, Media outlets, as well as
Local and State Law Enforcement.
“I had the pleasure of attending two Town Hall Meetings and witnessing the presentations by Andy and the Kacie’s Cause team. The meetings were both emotional and informative. The message about heroin addiction is something everyone needs to hear regardless of our ages. I applaud Andy and his team and recommend they be invited to speak in any community”.
Mayor Geoff Henry - Oxford, PA
“Heroin does not discriminate. It destroys the lives of the rich and the poor, urban and rural, young and old. Parents need to be aware of the warning signs and help save their children. Volunteer organizations like Kacie’s Cause play a critical role in education and prevention.”
Tom Hogan - District Attorney Chester County
“Dear Mr. Rumford…We at the Kennett Consolidated School District are extremely grateful for your work in bringing your anti-drug message and experiences out into the open. These are dangerous times for our youth and it is vital that children, young adults, parents, and educators are made aware of and work to eradicate this life threatening adversary.”
Dr. Barry Tomasetti, Ed.D. , Superintendent, Kennett Consolidated School District
“Kacie’s life story and her untimely death are unveiled by Andy as he shares his daughter’s tragic story in manner that resonates a profound love and loss every parent fears, but needs to hear…heroin is tormenting our Nation, our communities and our families; Kacie’s Cause brings awareness and education to this problem!”
Chief Gerald R. Simpson – New Garden Township Police
“The distribution of illegal drugs especially heroin is akin to terrorism, destroying one life at a time. We all need to do our part working together and become involved with stopping it. Kacie’s Cause is helping in a very important way to spread the word of the deadliness of heroin. The movement is made up of people who are very dedicated and determined. I have seen more public outreach now on the dangers of heroin through Kacie’s Cause than ever. “
Chief Edward A. Zunino - Kennett Square Police
“Kacie’s Cause is doing a wonderful job spreading the word about a terrible epidemic. Keep telling your story and saving other families from the same fate”.
